Etappe Römerradweg Kirchheim im Innkreis - Frankenmarkt
(alternatively to Vöcklamarkt)

The starting point is the municipality of Kirchheim im Innkreis, which has its own sports aerodrome. Sightseeing flights over the Innviertel are particularly worth seeing and eventful.

The journey continues to Waldzell, the home community of ski jumper Andi Goldberger. In recognition of his achievements, the municipality had a life-size statue of Goldberger made, which you can view in Waldzell.

On arrival in Frankenmarkt, you have the option of taking the branch route of the Roman cycle path to Lake Attersee or cycling on via Vöcklamarkt to Vöcklabruck.

Alternative route:
From Kirchheim im Innkreis, you can also take the alternative route via Aspach, Mettmach and Lohnsburg am Kobernaußerwald to Waldzell.

Between Kirchheim im Innkreis and Aspach, you can refresh yourself in the Wildenauer Badesee. The air and Kneipp spa Aspach offers several Kneipp centres. The town is also well worth a visit culturally. The Daringer family of artists characterises the townscape of Aspach. Both in the museum and on a short walk through the village, you can find expressive sculptures by the Daringer sculptors.

NEW: For mountain biking enthusiasts, the neighbouring municipality of Höhnhart offers access to the KTM-Kobernaußerwald-MTB-Arena

Further on to Mettmach: The cultural association KIMM brings top-class artists and cabaret artists to Mettmach several times a year.

In Lohnsburg in the Kobernaußerwald forest, you can take a detour to the Obsterlebnisgarten with its berry snack garden. For the more athletic, there is a steep climb to the Kobernaußerwaldwarte. The wonderful view of Salzburg and Bavaria makes up for the effort.
